History

Seattle Chinese Alliance Church began as a Bible study group in Beacon Hill at the home of Jimmie and Barbara Toy. The group grew rapidly under the leadership of Reverend Duncan Dang and they soon founded their own church, called the “Chinese Christian Fellowship”. In 1968, Pastor Dang started Sunday worship services at Columbia Congregational Church in Rainier Valley. He encouraged the church to join the Christian & Missionary Alliance to pursue growth in the area of evangelical teaching.

In 1973, the church moved to Beacon Hill Presbyterian Church until finally purchasing it’s current site in 1988. By God’s grace, our church continued to grow in numbers.  In 2003-2004, SCAC planted a sister church and also expanded our own building.

Missions has always been on the heart of SCAC. Every year we hold a Missions Conference where missionaries are invited to come and share their experience with us and speak on the importance of sharing the word of God with people around the world. We have had the privilege of sending many church members to various parts of the world to share the Gospel and build relationships with those who do not know Christ.

We continuously seek His guidance as our heart for God’s mission grows and we eagerly await for where He leads us next-both locally and globally.

We have been so blessed by the faithful service and strong leadership of many pastors including: Rev. Duncan Dang, Rev. Brainerd Shiu, Pastor Philip Chiu, Rev. Weymann Lee, Pastor Bob Merrill, Rev. Vincent Yeung, Rev. Clive Chin, Rev. John Durkee, Pastor Dennis Ng, Rev. Roy Chang, Rev. Samuel Ho, Rev. Tung Do, Pastor Ellie Fung and Pastor Steve Stauffer.
