Peter’s pivotal confession of Jesus as the Messiah marks the turning point in Mark’s Gospel. While Peter’s confession was technically right, he got the kind of Messiah all wrong. You can declare that “Jesus is the Messiah” but if you don’t understand the kind of Messiah he is, you still may not be following Him.
